With players wanting a fresh experience sticking with the futuristic setting of Infinite Warfare and those after a classic CoD experience opting to playing MWR. While the thought of taking a trip down memory lane and playing arguably the best Call of Duty multiplayer experience in the history of the franchise, the release of Modern Warfare Remastered (MWR) had a major impact on the player base. In late 2016, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare released, and for a bit of extra cash, a fully remastered copy of Call of Duty 4 was also included. The Call of Duty franchise was one of the first to buck the trend of reworking and improving the graphical quality of its most popular titles. The trend of publishers and developers remastering classic titles doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.
